THE RING SHOUT OR
JUBA
The Ring Shout, also called the Juba (the African name for it) emerged before 1739 but is still prominent today. It was brought from Africa during the slavery era, and was witnessed by people that it included extensive heel and foot taps that were executed.

BUCK
The Buck dance is very similar to other African percussive movements, emerged as a result of the 1739 drumming ban. Within this dance it include African culture such as keeping the feet close to the floor, the use of the torso. Some steps were: shuffles, heel and toe taps, and slides.
